Terms of Service

PlatePings lets people send preset, non–free-form messages to a registered vehicle owner by scanning a QR sticker. Owners receive push notifications on their phone and may reply through the Service. Plate activation is a one-time fee that includes a weatherproof sticker posted to your address in Malaysia. Extra stickers can be ordered separately.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under Malaysian law. Owners must be able to receive push notifications on a phone that supports installing our web app.

• Owners sign in with email and password
• You must provide accurate registration and shipping information
• You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure
• We may suspend accounts that appear compromised, abusive, or fraudulent

• Plate activation (currently RM29.90 unless listed otherwise) is a one-time Stripe charge in MYR and includes one physical sticker
• Extra / replacement stickers (currently RM15 unless listed otherwise) can be ordered without paying activation again
• Fees are generally non-refundable once a sticker order is processed, except where required by law
• You must only register plates you own or are authorised to manage
• Stickers remain our design; you receive a limited licence to display them on your vehicle
• Delivery times are estimates and may vary by courier and address accuracy

Scanners may only choose from approved preset messages. Owners may reply through the product flows we provide. All users must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. Message links expire after a short period (about two hours). We may rate-limit sending to reduce spam.

PlatePings is not an emergency, roadside, or law-enforcement service. If someone is in danger or a crime is underway, contact Malaysian emergency services (for example 999) immediately. Do not rely on PlatePings for urgent safety matters.

Notifications are delivered using Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and other processors (hosting, payments, email fallback). WhatsApp availability, delivery, and Meta's policies are outside our full control. Your use of WhatsApp is also subject to Meta's terms.

The Service, branding, software, and sticker designs are owned by EJD Labs Sdn. Bhd. or our licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Service except as allowed by law or written permission.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted availability, perfect delivery of every message, or fitness for a particular purpose. Message delivery depends on networks, WhatsApp, and recipient settings (including quiet hours and mute).

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EJD Labs Sdn. Bhd. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for PlatePings in that period (or RM100 if you paid nothing).

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law, including for fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is void.

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, abuse, non-payment, legal risk, or operational necessity. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion via Settings or by emailing support. Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits and IP) will survive termination.

We may update these Terms. Continued use after the updated date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where mandatory law requires additional consent.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
